Comments: This bill would have allowed a bidding contractor who submits a bid on a public construction project where a bond is required on a $50,000 project - this bill would increase the minimum to $75,000. It also would have allow state and local jurisdictions to issue a 5% preference to local contractors

Comments: This bill allows for a new over weight vehicle annual permit for rock, sand, gravel, wood and agricultural products that are at least 5% but not more than 8% over weight - the annual fee is $350. Also a $100. permit fee would be for wreckers towing combination vehicles and refuse container vehicles. DPS will regulate and the revenue will go to the Highway Construction and Maintenance Fund.
